Two-time killer admits to murder of child molester in Norfolk prison

9-16-2016 Massachusetts:

DEDHAM -- A lifer at the state prison in Norfolk, already convicted of killing one woman in 1986 and another in 1995, stopped his third murder trial on Thursday to plead guilty to killing a fellow inmate in 2011.

Christopher Fletcher, 55, said he beat convicted child molester Richard Silva to death with a rock because he was close to his release date and he believed the 64-year-old inmate would assault children again.

Fletcher admitted to second-degree murder on the third day of his trial in Norfolk Superior Court. He was sentenced -- for the third time -- to life.

Fletcher was serving a life sentence without parole for the 1995 murder of Elizabeth Salsbury, 48, in Lunenberg. While in prison, he admitted to the 1986 murder of Peggy Sue Cavillo, 24, in Lancaster. ..Source.. by The Patriot Ledger

A Santa Fe woman is suing the federal government over the beating death of her 72-year-old husband in a California prison after he was convicted on child pornography charges.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque, says prison officials are to blame for putting retired Wall Street attorney Robert A. Warren in a communal cell at the Victorville, Calif., prison with another inmate whom they knew was a danger to him.

A judge in February 2011 sentenced Warren to five years in prison. The lawsuit, which also described him as a university instructor, philanthropist and author, says he was killed on Dec. 29, 2011.

In his plea agreement, Warren had admitted to receiving a video clip online of a man sexually assaulting a prepubescent female who was tied up with a rope and to having on his computer 2,621 images and 26 videos depicting child pornography.

Carol H. Warren says in her complaint that a forensic psychologist concluded that Warren was a good candidate for outpatient treatment because he was amendable to treatment, had no history of violence, sexual or otherwise, and was “lacking many of the historic behavior problems that are associated with re-offenders.”

Teen Arrested In Uncle’s Death In East Boston Fire

EAST BOSTON (CBS) – Boston police have made an arrest in a fire and murder in East Boston.

Jaime Flores, a Salvadoran national, was living in a basement apartment of a home on Saratoga Street. He died in a fire there Monday morning. His hands had been tied.

Police arrested his nephew, 17-year-old Marco Tulio Flores of East Boston, Tuesday morning and charged him with homicide.

Commissioner Ed Davis told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that Flores turned himself in to police and confessed.

“We’re still in the process of putting the evidence together. This is very early in the investigation. In a case like this when there’s a homicide within a family, there’s usually a lot going on,” Davis said.

First degree murder charged in Essex County

An alleged domestic dispute has led to the shooting death of a convicted sexual predator and the imprisonment of the suspected gunman.

According to Essex County Sheriff Stanley S. Clarke, On July 25 at approximately 9:40 p.m. his department responded to a call advising of a shooting at 3749 Richmond Highway in the Paul's Crossroads area of the county.

After arriving at the scene, Essex authorities discovered Richard Earl Breedon, 46, dead of a gunshot wound. At that time, the suspect, identified as Justin Hodges, 29, the next door neighbor, had already fled the scene.

According to numerous reports by neighbors and sources close to the investigation, Hodges's ex-wife, whose identity was not disclosed, had recently left her husband and moved into Breedon's home. The Hodges' children reportedly shared time at both domiciles, which were only separated by a single wall.

Hodges allegedly became irate after discovering Breedon, a registered sexual offender who was convicted of forcible sodomy and rape in Jan., 2001, had become verbally abusive.

Kingman man convicted of murder in shotgun killing in rage over alleged child molestation

5-30-2014 Arizona:

A Kingman-area man faces life in prison after being convicted in the shotgun killing of a man whom the defendant mistakenly thought had molested his young daughter.

A jury on Thursday convicted George Allen Loader of first-degree murder and other charges in the 2011 killing of 51-year-old John Oppenheim, whose sawed-up body was burned in the desert.

In the courtroom, Loader directed a wan smile at his mother and shrugged after the jury returned its verdicts after deliberating for 90 minutes.

A prosecutor told jurors that Loader killed Oppenheim in a rage because he believed Oppenheim molested Loader's 3-year-old daughter.

"There was no physical evidence to indicate there was a molestation," Mohave County Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said Friday.

Loader's defense was that Oppenheim's death was accidental, that Oppenheim grabbed the shotgun by the barrel during a struggle as the men fought.

Beach Park man sentenced to 35 years for murder, torture

5-15-2014 Illinois:

A Beach Park man will spend 35 years in prison after assisting in the torture and murder of a 27-year-old Waukegan man wrongly accused of sexual assault.

Eric Castillo, 26, of the 38000 block of North Sheridan Road, was found guilty by a jury in February of holding down David Campbell while other people suffocated him with plastic bags and burned him with a blow torch on July 5, 2011.

Castillo must serve 100 percent of the sentence and is not eligible for parole.

Authorities said the five -- including Castillo -- were looking for revenge when they lured Campbell to the Waukegan auto-body shop on Dugdale Street through a fake drug deal.

After Campbell entered the shop's office, Castillo grabbed Campbell and held him while a second assailant hit him in the head with a hammer, authorities said.

The five assailants interrogated, tortured, and eventually killed Campbell in the garage, before dumping his body in the Penny Road Pond in unincorporated Cook County near Barrington, authorities said.
