Michael Anthony Aparicio Charged with Special Circumstances Murder for Halloween Slaying

11-10-15 California:

UPDATE NO. 3, NOV. 9, 12:20 P.M.: Michael Anthony Aparicio is scheduled to be arraigned on a special circumstances murder charge today for allegedly strangling 61-year-old Floyd Taylor Jr. to death inside a Stanton motel room Halloween morning, the Orange County District Attorney's office announced.

Aparicio, 27, of Anaheim, could get life in state prison without the possibility of parole if he is convicted of felony special circumstances murder with a sentencing enhancement allegation for murder during the commission of a robbery.

Around 6:15 a.m. on Oct. 31, Aparicio met Taylor inside his motel room at the Chester Inn in Stanton, where surveillance footage viewed later showed Taylor left his room alone but returned twice within the next hour, the OCDA says. After the last time Taylor returned, Aparicio allegedly wrapped a bungee cord around the older man's neck, strangled him, placed a pillow over the victim's face and pulled the bed covers up over the body before taking Taylor's wallet and fleeing the scene, prosecutors claim.

Man found murdered in a ditch may have been killed after confessing in therapy to abusing a 5-year-old relative more than 35-years ago

3-4-2014 Michigan:

1)Body of Steven Day, 54, was found in a ditch in Grand Rapids, MI, on December 18[ 2)He reportedly admitted the molestation of a five-year-old relative to his sister but was never charged or convicted; 3)Robert McCombs, 63, and Roger Musick, 38, charged with tampering with evidence

The murder of a man found in a snowy ditch could be linked to the victim's recent admission that he molested a young relative 35 years ago, police have said.

Steven Day, 54, was found in the ditch in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on December 18 - it is not yet clear how he died.

Kent County Sheriff's Detective Martin Albert said he found evidence at Day's home that suggested he he had admitted to molesting a five-year-old relative, 35 years ago.

At the time of his death Day had never been charged or prosecuted for any molestation crime.

But he was taking part in the Salvation Army's 12-step 'Turning Point' program for which Mr Day wrote that he committed the molestation, authorities said.

Girl, 16, faces 25 years for strangling molester

Mentally ill teen 'said they got in a fight and he was hitting her'

A 16-year-old mentally ill girl – who is accused of killing her 43-year-old statutory rapist – now faces up to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder.

Jessica Burlew of Glendale, Az., reportedly suffers from schizophrenia and autism. She has been charged as an adult for the murder of Jason Ash, 43, a man described by almost every media outlet that has reported on the case as her “boyfriend,” even though the age of sexual consent in Arizona is 18.

Burlew, who is accused of strangling Ash with an electrical cord on Jan. 28, said the two had been engaged in a sexual game of autoerotic asphyxiation, a method of increasing sexual excitement by cutting off oxygen to the brain.

According to court documents, Burlew claimed Ash didn’t say the “safety word,” and she told police she began cutting him with razor blades in an attempt to wake him up since she believed he had passed out.

Once Burlew realized Ash wasn’t waking up, she said, she continued “cutting” him to “alleviate her stress from the situation.”

8-2-2011 Massachusetts:

EAST BOSTON (CBS) – Boston police have made an arrest in a fire and murder in East Boston.

Jaime Flores, a Salvadoran national, was living in a basement apartment of a home on Saratoga Street. He died in a fire there Monday morning. His hands had been tied.

Police arrested his nephew, 17-year-old Marco Tulio Flores of East Boston, Tuesday morning and charged him with homicide.

Commissioner Ed Davis told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that Flores turned himself in to police and confessed.

“We’re still in the process of putting the evidence together. This is very early in the investigation. In a case like this when there’s a homicide within a family, there’s usually a lot going on,” Davis said.
